More about Carol
Born and raised in Bend, Carol earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2015 from the University of St. Augustine before launching her career in outpatient orthopedic clinics in the San Diego area. In 2020, she returned home to open Osprey Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine, blending expert care with deep personal understanding. She is joined in life and in practice by her husband, Paul, and their dog, Ren.

Carol’s path to physical therapy began long before graduate school. After shoulder surgery in high school, she experienced firsthand how a skilled physical therapist could restore not just movement, but confidence and quality of life — a moment that sparked her passion for health and movement. That journey deepened during her college ACL surgery and rehab, where navigating much of the process independently taught her the value of having a dedicated clinician in your corner. Later, a torn hip labrum in 2019 led her through insurance and care barriers, reinforcing her commitment to guiding patients through every step of recovery.

Her clinical approach is grounded in evidence-based assessment and individualized care. Carol is certified in the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), a structured framework for identifying the root causes of movement dysfunction and tailoring treatment to whole-body movement patterns. She also holds the Barbell Rehab Method certification, equipping her to help patients safely modify strength training movements around pain or limitations, and a Blood Flow Restriction Training certification, enabling her to safely apply this advanced strategy to support strength and recovery when heavy loading isn’t appropriate. A core goal of Carol’s approach is not to tell patients to stop moving, but rather to work with them to modify load, movement patterns, and training strategies, keeping them active and engaged in the activities that matter most to them.

Her treatment style blends hands-on manual techniques — including soft tissue work and joint mobilization — with tailored movement and home programs designed to empower patients toward independence and confidence in their recovery. Carol believes in giving patients the tools they need to reclaim their goals and lifestyles.

Outside the clinic, Carol enjoys Bend’s outdoors — hiking, fishing, or snowboarding, depending on the season. She trains and competes in triathlons, focusing on Olympic and HalfIronman distances, balancing disciplined training with work and family life. She also loves playing tennis with her mom, recalling memories of running up and down the basketball court together.
