Dr. Cameron Smith grew up in a military family, constantly on the move, living in places like San Diego, Chicago, Hawaii, and Florida before finally settling in southeast Georgia. His first career was in combative martial arts, where he found fulfillment not only in practicing the sport but also in teaching and coaching others. After sustaining several injuries, Cameron experienced firsthand the transformative power of physical therapy, sparking a new passion—helping people stay active and pain-free so they can live life to the fullest.

In 2016, Cameron was contracted to create an adaptive boxing program for individuals with Parkinson’s disease. This experience deepened his commitment to making movement accessible to all, regardless of their physical limitations. While studying at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences, Cameron continued teaching adaptive boxing, combining his love for martial arts with his growing knowledge in rehabilitation.
Cameron earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2021, and soon after, he moved to Bend to join the area's adventurous and active community. Before coming to Osprey Physical Therapy, Cameron worked alongside two of Central Oregon’s top spine surgeons, gaining invaluable experience in post-surgical rehabilitation. In 2024, one of those surgeons performed a disc replacement on Cameron’s neck. Having gone through the recovery process himself, he gained a deeper understanding of what his patients experience, reinforcing his commitment to guiding them back to the activities they love.
Outside of work, Cameron enjoys spending time outdoors with his partner, Melissa, and their dog, Honey. He remains dedicated to training in combatives and sharing the art of movement both in and out of the clinic. Cameron’s motto is, “PT shouldn’t stand for Pain and Torture—it should stand for Party Time!” His goal is to make every session engaging and effective, ensuring patients leave feeling better and empowered to live their best lives.
